Field Dog Training Programs

Training Programs for Labrador Retrievers
Training Programs for Spaniels

Altiquin Philosophy:  To train a dog 'in school' is easy. However, to train a dog to become a supportive and reliable hunting companion---an asset---with experience... to be amongst the very best in the competitive world of dog trialing or on any shoot, now that is a different type of training.

Altiquin Dogs strives to train dogs to be the very best. Its philosophy is simple:  if the dog has the potential then it will reach the heights in field trialing. If it hasn't, it will still be trained to Irish / English trialing standards, no less, no matter what the pedigree.

If your dog shows potential, then Altiquin Dogs will guarantee that it will be trained to a standard not often seen outside of competitive Irish and British trialing circles.

We at Altiquin Dogs take great pride in our methods of training dogs. These methods are founded on the premise that a dog will naturally and instinctively follow the trainer's directive if shown the correct way.

Specialising in Out-of-Print Books! Consequently, we do not rely on a corrective method of training. That is to say, we do not let a dog do wrong and then try to break it of that habit. Our methods do not require us to use training aids like the electronic collar. Instead we cultivate a trust bond between dog and handler that is stronger than the dog's natural tendencies.

Remember:  a broken dog will always break again. A trusting dog knows nothing but to trust.
